Today was a bit more of a leisurely start after a couple of long days in the car. We went to downtown Atlanta to the World of Coca-Cola for a little refreshment. As you walk in the door you are given your choice of Coke, Diet Coke or Coke Zero in a very cute metal souvenir bottle. This is followed by a short intro into the origins of Coka-Cola, originally formulated by a pharmacist on May 8, 1886 in Atlanta and sold for 5 cents a glass.
We then went through a number of exhibits all about Coke, it’s production, advertising and of course the ‘Secret Recipe’. Currently said to be held in the Vault inside the World of Coca-Cola! (pictured below).
The girls were not too impressed by their 4D movie, I hope we don’t need a chiropractor!
A bit of fun was had in the tasting room where you can taste soft drink from around the world. Wow there are some awful concoctions out there! Jenna & Jessica also had fun meeting the Coca-Cola Polar bear. He was a bit of a character, who thought Teddy looked particularly tasty, much to Jessica’s dislike of course.
We are currently on a drive north of Atlanta into the mountains to Big Canoe. Where we are meeting up with a work colleague of Stuart’s for dinner.
Tomorrow is another long day in the car as we head to fun filled Florida!
