We have enjoyed a great (and hot) day in San Antonio today doing three things.
First we visited the Alamo and read through the history from 1836 with Davy Crockett et al.
Then we walked along the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio, which is a famous network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River, one story beneath the streets of Downtown San Antonio.
During the walk we also visited the Cathedral of San Fernando, the final resting place of Davy Crockett et al. We finished back at the Riverwalk Center and walked around the shops before doing some final shopping in the afternoon at some of our favourite shops.
Tomorrow we are heading a little north of San Antonio to the state capital city of Austin. Interestingly, Texas is the 2nd most populous state of the 50 United States, after #1 California with approximately 27 million. Therefore the Texas state government looks after more people than Australia’s Federal Government!
