With our last full day in Paris, we set out early again by foot and walked to the Notre Dame de Paris (more commonly known as the Notre Dame Cathedral) via the Musee du Louvre, which was closed due to it being a Tuesday.
It was another gorgeous cool and sunny spring morning in Paris and we walked around 4kms from our apartment to the Notre Dame Cathedral along with the workers heading off to work.
After the Louvre, we walked along the Seine river down towards the Cathedral and walked onto the island that it sits on. There were plenty of people around also wanting to get a look inside.
Jenna has created a number of cutouts for various scenes and most of them have worked well. Here is one of Quasimodo walking along the top of the cathedral.
After the Cathedral, we slowly walked back to our apartment for some lunch and to rest for an hour or so.
In the afternoon, we headed out by foot again however this time in the opposite direction towards the Champs-Élysées for some shopping and to climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe.
The day remained beautiful weather wise and we really enjoyed walking the streets again. We got to the Champs-Élysées and started with the Disney Store (of course) before continuing up towards the Place Charles de Gaulle which is the massive roundabout where the Arc de Triomphe is located.
We purchased our tickets and headed to the top.
Here is another of Jenna’s cutouts that she made.
With the view above, we stopped and ordered some crepes from a vendor and watched him make them – they were délicieux!
As we headed back down the Champs-Élysées we stopped in at a store Lindy wanted to purchase some macarons, called Laduree.
All reports were that they were delicious too.
By this stage it was approaching 7pm so we decided to walk back to our apartment and have some dinner – much needed after yet another 12+ kms walking day.
We have been busy packing tonight as first thing tomorrow morning, we are off to the CDG airport to catch our Emirates flight to Dubai where we will spend the next 3 nights.
Au revoir from Paris.
