We set off this morning for a short 5 minutes drive down to the Jumeirah Beach for a paddle. It was quite busy already and of course, very warm. It is located not far along the coast from the Burj Al Arab, so you can enjoy uninterrupted views of this impressive looking building.
The water was so clear and cool – the water being the Persian Gulf or Arabian Gulf, depending on which side of the ongoing dispute you sit.
We headed back to the Mall of the Emirates and grabbed some groceries for lunch and then proceeded back to our apartment.
After a quiet and long lunch, we headed back to the Dubai Mall for some final shopping and headed outside one more time to catch a glimpse of the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain.
We left our apartment and headed back down to the beach for a final look at night at the Burj Al Arab.
… and then filled up the car (fuel around 66 Australian cents per litre)
before returning to the Dubai airport.
Our flight leaves from DXB at 1:30am Sunday morning (7:30am Melbourne time) and is due to arrive back in MEL at 9pm Sunday evening.
We were able to again access the Emirates First Class lounge and enjoy a nice meal before our journey home.
We have enjoyed a sensational holiday and it definitely feels like we have been away for longer than we have.
Home soon …
