So we are off to the USA again for a 10 day holiday in Southern California (aka SoCal).
Fortunately we were able to enjoy the Qantas First Class lounge in Melbourne before our departure for LAX. We all enjoyed a big breakfast with the grown-ups enjoying a glass of Taittinger.
After our 14 hour and 5 minutes flight to LAX, we cleared customs etc and made our way to the car rental centre where we picked up our 7 seater Dodge Caravan.
We headed immediately south east down towards Irvine (where our hotel is) and spent the day driving around shopping – we went to Hobby Lobby, Target, Downtown Disney (where Jenna was finally able to buy her large Stitch plush she has wanted for ages) …
We walked to the Disneyland entrance and checked out all of the Halloween decorations …
and of course, spent considerable time (and money) in the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney.
We all enjoyed our lunch at In n Out Burger and then bought some groceries for our apartment / hotel room.
At around 5pm on Day 1, the girls jumped in the pool, whilst Stuart and Lindy sat by the pool and enjoyed a drink and some nibbles. It wasn’t overly warm – around 20 degrees (68F) – but the pool water was quite warm.
We all enjoyed an early night (asleep by 8pm) and all slept very well.
Day 2 involved a lot of shopping with considerable money being spent.
We spent the morning clothes shopping at Ross and TJ Maxx with some toys at Toys R Us (at South Coast Plaza), before returning back to our hotel room for lunch. In the afternoon, we went to the Outlets at Orange, Hobby Lobby again and finished off at The Market Place at Tustin.
Again we had dinner in our room and now are all excited and prepared for day 3 which will take us to one of our favourite placed in the world – Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA.
Hi all , glad all is going well. Need a big case for stitch. Enjoy the shopping and have a wonderful time at Disneyland.
Have fun love to all xxxooo
Well hello to all the McPhees in SoCal. Already you’ve packed so much into two days. Seems like I just heard that you were going away.
Enjoy it all, and I look forward to further updates.
