Day 7 – Asakusa and Akihabara

Another leisurely start to our day today.

This morning we walked over the Sumida River again on a gorgeous cool but sunny Sunday morning in Tokyo.  We headed straight to the Asakusa Shrine and the surrounding shops and markets.

Here is a photo below from one of the market laneways in Asakusa with the Tokyo SkyTree in the distance:

Here is another shop we found selling all things related to samurai swords:

We spent a couple of hours walking around the shops before catching the train back to the SkyTree for lunch in our apartment.

Around 2:30pm this afternoon we caught the train again and headed to Akihabara, which is well known for its street of electronic stores.

The area was incredible and the wide street blocked off for Sunday afternoon foot traffic.

It was all so loud and colourful and we spent a few hours wandering around different shops.  It was a great afternoon of shopping.

We headed back to our apartment for dinner and will be heading back to Tokyo’s DisneySea tomorrow and Tokyo Disneyland on Tuesday.
