Day 3 – Florida

We flew from Los Angeles to Orlando on Wednesday 3rd April – everything went very smoothly.

We left the hotel right on 4am on Wednesday morning and got to the airport before 5am, filled up and returned the car, then caught a shuttle bus to the terminal. Being so early, the terminal was relatively quiet so check in was easy, as was going through security etc.

Lindy and Stuart were able to access the American Airlines Flagship Lounge where we had breakfast etc. The girls had to remain outside at the gate. Dad smuggled a few loads of food out to them, to include some quiche, hashbrowns and drinks etc.

The flight was good … right on 4 hours 15 minutes and we sat in the first and second rows of economy. We waited around 20 minutes for our luggage and got our rental car – a Chrysler Pacifica – a beautiful 7 seater van. It is a beautiful car to drive and only has 5000 miles on it.

Upon arrival in Orlando, we went to one of our favourite restaurants – Cracker Barrel and were all in bed reasonably early.

Thursday was all shopping – we went to two Premium Outlets, one on International Drive and the other on Vineland. They are both located right on the I4 interstate. The girls have been eyeing off plenty of Disney merchandise from Disney shops there (all through visiting their websites before we left home) and they were not disappointed.

We then went to Disney Springs closer to all of the parks. We grabbed food from Walmart, came back to our hotel, had dinner and then headed out to shop at Ross and TJ Maxx.

Friday is our last day before the cruise departs on Saturday. We have some minor final shopping to do, specifically for the cruise.
