We had a reasonably quiet day today.
We set out early again and wandered down to the Thames River where we sat and enjoyed the view of the majestic Tower Bridge with the sun rising.
We then went to the Tower of London and enjoyed the next 3 hours of wandering through some amazing history of London. It was good for the children to see so much history to include the armour worn hundreds of years ago, a torture chamber, numerous towers with windy narrow staircases, a King’s bedroom from hundreds of years ago and best of all, the Crown Jewels.
The display of the Crown Jewels was breathtaking with the amount of precious stones and gold used to include a golf punch bowl which held 144 bottles of wine and the various large plates used in various coronations.

We wandered around the walls of the Tower of London and explored most of the areas.
Afterwards we bought some lunch and sat by the River Thames watching all the people walk past. It was another gorgeous day weather wise and there were plenty of people out.
We then walked across the Tower Bridge again and went to the gift shop on the other side of the river. There were people everywhere.

We headed back to our apartment and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of reading and watching TV.
We have an exciting day planned tomorrow that the children have been looking forward to for ages. More to follow …
Just by being you Jenna should have made him laugh…. Glad the weather is being good to you. History in abundance throughout England and the mind boggles at just how old some places and things are. It’s hard to imagine as we are such a young country. Have fun look forward to your next instalment. We are very jealous but it is bringing back lots of good memories for us. Luv to all xxxooo
